Prepper Envy

Prepping can seem so overwhelming, especially when you see preppers all over the internet with huge stockpiles, or what seems like endless knowledge, or really organized and put together. Trust me I know, I feel that way too! I see these homesteaders and prepper ladies who have their hair and makeup done, and their houses clean and organized, their massive canning videos posted daily and I'm overwhelmed and discouraged. I live in PJ's when I'm not at work, I don't wear makeup outside of the office either. I'm always cleaning and doing laundry or driving the kiddo to activities, so when do I find time to make food, can food, and prep and get that in order. Short answer, "I don't". So yes obviously I do, do all those things, but doing one means the others don't get done tha majority of the time. My stockpile is a half re organized mess and has been for a couple months, I haven't canned bear as much as I want to or feel like I should especially with it being winter. I don't know why winter makes me feel like I should be canning more but it does. I'm doing laundry this weekend because if I don't we'll all be naked, I still need to go to the grocery store. And I cooked 2 meals. But that's it for this weekend, my cup is overflowing and I'm tired. You may be feeling this too, then add in all the crazy in the world, the cost of things, and the winter blues. It's a lot. I want to do more, but my 2 days off just aren't enough, if I win the lottery you will all know because you'll eventually see videos of me in the middle of nowhere homesteading and living my best life. But until then, this is my best life, tired, sometimes messy, but doing my best and spending time with my family. It's ok to not prep the same as me or someone else you know. It's ok if someone else has more prepped than you, or cans more..... you do what you can when you can, and that is enough.
