The Winter brings lots of challenges and experiences with it each year. How you choose to approach and learn from those is entirely up to you. Right now much of the US is experiencing record low temps, and while I've been over on Tiktok sharing ways to prep for about a year, and explaining what practical prepping is, I still get the majority of viewers thinking I'm prepping for Doomsday. So let's start there. Practical Prepping, for me that means being prepared for everyday life and anything it can throw at you. So whether that be a loss of income, a bad weather event, a pandemic, social or govt unrest, shortages, inflation, self sufficiency journeys, being more natural/organic, or being WAY too damn tired to shop or cook sometimes. Now lots of people prep for lots of different reasons, I prep for all of the reasons, and I do it in a way that works for me. So while I can food to have long term, more affordable options, I also do it so I can have quick meals when I don't feel like preparing a whole ass meal. Now while it being healthier is a great "side effect", I also eat Taco Bell and Cheetos while chugging Diet Mt. Dew. I live in the suburbs of a big city in Ohio. I don't have access always to things straight from a farm in a convenient way, I also have a budget, a full time job, and a kid in tons of activities. So I will happily buy whatever boxed or canned food is on clearance at the local supermarket or big box store. You will learn a bit of everything on this journey with me. Some canning, herbalism, couponing, camping skills, and how to Amazon shop with the best of them. I'm glad you're here and I hope you are too, let's figure this ratchet shit we call life out together. 💀 The Prepping Momma
